Health Safety Environment

Safety Philosophy

Safety is a core value and a core part of the Maverick way of life. Accomplishing 10 years incident free requires a steadfast commitment to a safety program that not only maintains compliance with legislative requirements, but fosters a “Safety Conscious Environment” where safety is everyone’s concern and responsibility.

The Maverick safety culture is based on a solid foundation of management commitment and leadership. Safety is a line management function throughout our organization. Senior management, including the executive team, actively participates in all of our Safety Processes and demand that line managers do the same.

Safety is not just an activity at MEI it is a mindset that carries throughout all activities and is not considered just first but considered first, last and always. We integrate Safety into everything we do no matter how routine.

We are all responsible for identifying hazards that may affect us personally, those we work with, the general public, and the environment. When we see a hazard, we are all responsible for taking immediate action to prevent harm from the hazard. The hazard must then be reported immediately to management, who will be held accountable for ensuring mitigation and corrective action.” - Chief Operating Officer
